I lived a Rock n Roll life locally and nationally. I did shows with Dave Perner (Soul Asylum) Dandy Warhols , Elliott Smith and Tommy TuTone "867-5309." My band at the time did a movie scene for an Andrew Dice Clay and Terry Hatcher (Brainsmasher) Needing a job I became an audio engineer out of Seattle helping Kearney Barton early 90's grunge days for Karney Barton (Sonics, Fleetwoods, Paul Revere and the Raiders, along with some Tonya Harding ice skating song remixes and had famous call from Quincy Jones.
Cancer got to me about 11 years ago and slowed most of my efforts in music and physically being able to do my day job. My music has hung with me the whole time. Now with cancer, I treat my days like its the first time I ever held a guitar.
Growing up in Southern Oregon in a rural area with nothing to do I learned how to play Rock N Roll, drive fast cars and pick up girls which is what my songs are about. After getting the High School diploma I had to get out of there and move to the big city. Fast forward to now I'm now sick with this cancer and so I have to live every day as if it were my last. I finally moved out of the city into wine country in the Dundee Hills in the Willamatte Valley on the way to the Pacific Ocean. I also bought a cabin off the Highway along the Klamath Lake and bought a cabin to be near my deep rooted friends and family. Its a quiet place to write and record music (with famous equipment) and do some hunting. Ah and the big bonfires..!
A good wise industry friend told me that there are two things that make good written songs. One is a good story and the second is to write about the truth. The songs are about the places and names that are around me ( HWY 39, Dead Indian Road, Gravity Hill..a "Small Town" when the street lights shut down at midnight) Please sign up and leave your e-mail address so I will never forget you.
